The others turn and fade away and disappear from view,
And the memories echo round me like the times I thought I knew;
For to reminisce in darkened rooms where once the laughter rang
Is to conjure forth and hearken to the voice my conscience sang.

Yet I find consolation in the auburn of your hair,
In the smile your eyes engender I forget what pain I bear;
In your beauty; in the turning of your head to call my name;
In the passion of my learning I may never doubt again.
